experience, over things, becomes valued
Meet the Business Owner:
Imagine a real life Oppie from Mayberry. That's ME!
Raised in a one traffic-light town on the eastern shore of Maryland,
I stood out. After a successful paper route at 11 and at the tender
age of 15, I started my first business, the craft; Ceramics as
"Kevin's Creations." That success made it possible to buy a car at
16. At my vocational high school, I majored in Floraculture
and after graduation, I moved to our Nations Capitol. It's funny
now, but while there, I attended Mixology School. I worked in the
hospitality industry (all facets) for the next 9 years, taking me to
San Jose, CA, San Francisco, then to Sacramento. I LOVE Sacramento
and have been entrenched in the community through work and
volunteering. I earned a certificate in Graphic Design from UC Davis
and had a part-time career in publishing, advertising and marketing.
At the same time I owned and franchised a housekeeping business for
16 years before selling it to create
Though my dear friend Bill says to "keep it simple" ...I just can't.
It's all in the details!

all, thank you! You have been one of the best instructors I have ever had. This
intern-ship was a dream come true and one I could have never imagined to be so
great. I know that I would not have learned as much about the industry from
anyone or any place else. What you have taught me is invaluable. Even the
situations that were not best served as the some of the most valuable learning
points. No matter what was going on, everything was always a teaching
moment. Although weddings were not my first choice in events when I started, I
know now that I definitely donít want to plan them. Thank you for opening my
eyes to that! I look forward to using what I learned from you in the industry
and, one day, be as successful as you are. Anyone who has the chance to learn
from you is very lucky.

Kevin, you were and still are a great mentor to me and someone I can count on
for any professional or personal advice. You were an amazing teacher who had
the ability to teach, even through times of chaos as we were setting up an
event. You are the first one to pull an intern aside and explain why you made a
particular decision. This is a rare quality to find. Iím so thankful that I
met you. Again, thank you for taking a chance on a scrappy college student."
